JoSAA Counselling 2026: Date, registration, step-by-step process, documents required & complete admission guide

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is expected to announce the counselling schedule soon. According to the official JEE Advanced 2026 website, the registration process will begin on June 2, 2026. The counselling will facilitate admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes based on candidates’ JEE Advanced and JEE Main ranks. The process involves several stages, including registration, choice filling, mock seat allotment, final seat allocation, fee payment and confirmation, document verification, and reporting to the allotted institute.

Following the announcement of the results, the admission process will shift to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling phase. Candidates who qualify will be eligible to take part in the seat allocation process for IITs as well as other participating institutes.

  • Class 10 mark sheet/certificate, Aadhaar card, or birth certificate (as proof of date of birth)
  • Class 12 mark sheet (qualifying examination)
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable
  • PwD certificate for Persons with Disabilities, if applicable
  • Certificate for candidates with less than 40% disability who face writing difficulties, if applicable
  • Copy of a crossed bank cheque or image of passbook showing bank account details
  • Medical certificate
  • OCI certificate/PIO card, if applicable
  • Passport or citizenship certificate, if applicable
