England have appointed Jos Buttler as their new white-ball captain, following Eoin Morgan's decision to retire from international cricket.
Morgan, who led England to victory at the 2019 Cricket World Cup, announced his international retirement earlier this week after seven-and-a-half years in charge. Buttler was widely expected to replace him given he was Morgan's vice-captain and England have now confirmed his appointment.
"I would like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to Eoin Morgan for his outstanding leadership over the past seven years," Buttler said. "It has been the most memorable period for everyone involved. He has been an inspirational leader, and it has been fantastic to play under him.
