Jorginho has issued a strong warning to his Chelsea teammates ahead of their Club World Cup final clash with Palmeiras on Saturday.
Chelsea edged Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal 1-0 on Wednesday thanks to club-record signing Romelu Lukaku's first-half strike.
The Blues are understandably strong favourites heading into the final, but the Brazilian-born midfielder insists that Palmeiras will be desperate to prove that South American football is just as competitive as European football by beating Chelsea.
Thus, he's warned his teammates that the Blues need to be at their very best if they're going to return to Stamford Bridge with another trophy.
"They are going to play for everything," he said, as cited by the Evening Standard. "This is very important for a team in Brazil.
"It is the same for us, but definitely we are going to give everything in this final and we need to be prepared.
"I think probably they want to prove they are better than European teams. It is the opportunity for them to play against a team from Europe.
"For them, that’s a big thing. They are going to come for us. We need to be prepared for that."
Jorginho will add yet another honour to his collection if Chelsea win, which will crown what has been an unbelievable past nine months for the Italy international.
Meanwhile, for the club, it will mean a third major trophy in that time after success in the Champions League and European Super Cup, but importantly, they will be crowned Champions of the world for the first time.
