Jorginho's wife, Catherine Harding, has spoken out following an incident involving their 11-year-old daughter. The family was in São Paulo, Brazil, to celebrate the child's birthday and watch her favourite artist, Chappell Roan, perform live. An altercation involving a security guard subsequently left the child and her mother shaken.
Jorginho was the first to publicly detail the incident involving his daughter. Roan later responded to the backlash, stating that the security guard who confronted the child and her mother was not part of her personal team. Harding, however, remains unconvinced by that account.
Harding Questions Roan's Account
In a video she released independently, Harding acknowledged Roan's explanation but challenged its central claim. Harding noted that the guard was not employed by the hotel and is known for providing security for artists. While she said she could not confirm with certainty that the guard worked directly for Roan, she maintained that he would have had no reason to be at the venue otherwise.
Harding also gave her own account of events, saying that she and her daughter spotted Roan from a distance during a meal. Her daughter, visibly excited, approached the area where Roan was seated but did not attempt to take photographs as she did not have a phone with her.

The security guard then approached Harding's table and accused her of failing to teach her daughter proper manners, telling her she had not raised the child well. Harding said she attempted to explain that her daughter had simply been overwhelmed with excitement at being near the singer, but the guard did not relent. She described him as 'large' and intimidating, and said neither she nor her daughter should have been spoken to in that manner.
Harding said she remains convinced that the guard was connected to Roan's team, as she believes there would have been no other reason for his presence at the hotel during the singer's stay.
Chappell Roan's Side of the Story
In her statement, Roan said she was not approached by anyone during her time at the hotel and that she did not see the child or her mother. She also said she had not instructed any security personnel to approach them.
'I'm sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and that if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that,' Roan said.

'She Does Not Deserve Your Affection'
Jorginho urged Roan and other artists to reflect on the incident. 'It's sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this. I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child,' he said.
Jorginho also reminded Roan that her career had been built on the support of fans like his daughter.
Jorginho also addressed Roan's fanbase directly, saying: 'And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection.'
