Jorginho wants to sign a new contract at Chelsea, despite interest from Barcelona.
That is according to the Chelsea midfielder’s agent, Joao Santos, who is working to resolve his client’s future as he is into the final year of his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
As reported by Standard Sport earlier this week, Barcelona are interested in signing Jorginho for free next summer along with team-mate N’Golo Kante.
Jorginho’s agent has suggested talks with Barca have taken place, telling TuttoMercatoWeb: “I work in football, I have been to Barcelona, ââMadrid and Valencia, but also in other parts such as Lyon.”
Pressed if he spoke to Barca about Jorginho, Santos said: “I’m Jorginho’s agent, I may have talked about him but also about others…”
Santos did add, however, that right now the 30-year-old midfielder’s current priority is to earn a new deal at Chelsea.
“We are due [to expire] in June,” he said. “We prioritise Chelsea and we are moving towards it.
“Another priority for Jorginho is to do well with the national team.”
