Jorgie said: "I’ve not really spoken about Forest’s birth on here, but as it’s c-section awareness month I thought it was time to share a little more. I chose to have an elective c-section (controversial I know) and my experience was soooo positive, looking back I definitely made the right decision for me.
"We had so many conversations with my midwife Sandi (who was amazing btw) all the way through my pregnancy about my birthing options, and ultimately I think I just needed to take some of the anxiety of the unknown away.
"Having an planned c-section I feel did just that. I appreciate it’s not for everyone but it was the right decision for me. I was worried about my size and was forever being told he was a BIG baby and my experiences with miscarriages meant that knowing the day Forest would arrive on a certain day and understanding the process from beginning to end, really helped me to relax in the lead up to his birth."
Jorgie addressed the stigma around elective c-sections and said: "I respect everyone's right to decide… but to be completely honest I don’t care what anyone thinks anyway. My birth, my choice. I actually find it really empowering that we have this choice and the only person who has to be happy with it is you!
"I feel like c-section mums are sometimes made to feel like it’s the easy way out but let’s be honest there’s no easy way of giving birth.
"I actually don’t really think about my scar, I know it’s there but I’m not self conscious about it. I’m told it’s healed well and apart from the odd twinge when everything was healing inside and a little numbness, it’s just part of me now, a special part if I actually think about it! I hope every woman due to give birth has the same choices and support like I did, I genuinely believe it’s made all the difference for my birth experience and recovery.
"C-Section mums I see you. P.s he actually was ‘big’ so I was told I would’ve ended up with a c section anyway."
Jorgie was inundated with comments and likes from her followers, including her Hollyoaks co-stars.
Chelsee Healey said: "c section mummy and proud."
Jessica Fox said: "Exactly that. Your birth, your way and it was beautiful."
Ashley James said: "How someone chooses to do anything should never be controversial. Love this."
And Matt Evers said: "Your body your choice kiddo…. We love you all no matter what!"
