Jorge Masvidal doubts "midget" Conor McGregor would accept UFC fight

Jorge Masvidal has questioned whether UFC star Conor McGregor would ever take him up on a fight offer.

Masvidal - who faces bitter rival Colby Covington at UFC 272 on March 5 - has previously been called out by former two-weight champion McGregor.

UFC president Dana White has dismissed that Masvidal - who competes at 170lb - is "too big" for McGregor and the Irishman is not a natural welterweight.

Masvidal was asked during a recent Q&A about a comment McGregor's call out of him and the American gave a scathing reply.

"A lot of people say that they would kick my a** and you can find them in the graveyard. I don't know what you want me to tell you but you know what I would do to that f***ing midget," he said during the Rumble Q&A.

And when asked if he would accept a fight with McGregor, he said: "Of course. You've just got to pay me my money. Will he fight me is the question.

"You guys know if you put a dollar symbol on somebody's head, I will get that."

Masvidal's manager Malki Kawa has previously claimed the UFC asked his fighter to move down to 155lb to fight McGregor.

Masvidal has not fought at lightweight since 2015 and his manager claims McGregor's team has constantly turned down a welterweight fight.

"Every time McGregor has ever tweeted at Jorge I always pick up the phone," Kawa told ' The MMA Hour '. "I call and say 'Hey Conor what's good do you want that fight?'.

"They say yeah he doesn't want that fight and they say it every single time and it never fails.

"Listen I don't know if that is real or not but I know that they have said they have tried to make that fight but Conor won't take it.

"You hear Dana saying that Masvidal is too big for him and all that kind of stuff, and that is the end of that story. So if they want to make that fight our end would accept that fight and we are all in."

McGregor will likely return to the cage in summer having spent the better part of the year on the sidelines with a broken tibia he sustained at UFC 264 last July.

The Irishman has been backed to get a lightweight title shot against the winner of Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje, which takes place in May.

McGregor is without a win at 155lb since winning the title against Eddie Alvarez in 2016 and currently finds himself ranked at No.9 in the division.
