A Jordanian citizen residing in Orlando, Florida, has been charged with multiple offenses related to threats and destruction in the state. Hashem Younis Hashem Hnaihen faces four counts of threatening to use explosives and one count of destruction of an energy facility.

Court records reveal that Hnaihen targeted businesses in the Orlando area, smashing windows and leaving threatening letters. The letters indicated his intent to destroy or explode establishments in America, particularly those supporting Israel. Additionally, Hnaihen vandalized a solar panel farm, causing significant damage by smashing panels and cutting wires with precision.

Prosecutors highlighted the premeditated and sophisticated nature of Hnaihen's actions, noting that his attacks resulted in $700,000 worth of damages within a span of two hours. Furthermore, Hnaihen attempted to purchase a firearm by providing false information about his US citizenship, but his deception was uncovered during a background check.

Authorities raised concerns about the escalating nature of Hnaihen's threats and destructive behavior. Just days before his arrest, a warning letter similar to those left at businesses was found at an industrial propane gas depot in Orlando, causing disruptions until the area was cleared by a hazmat team.

The court has ordered Hnaihen to remain in custody pending further legal proceedings. The case underscores the serious consequences of making threats and engaging in destructive acts, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public safety and security.
