Jordan Poole’s stretch of consecutive games with 20 or more points comes to an end vs. Lakers

Without Steph Curry due to injury through the final stretch of the 2021-22 regular season, the Golden State Warriors have leaned heavily on Jordan Poole and he’s delivered.

Heading into Thursday’s contest against the Los Angeles Lakers, Poole has notched 17 consecutive games with 20 or more points. Along with scoring 20 or more, Poole has recorded five games with 30 or more points. During that span, the Michigan product has averaged 26.4 points on 49.7% shooting from the floor with 5.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.

However, Poole’s impressive streak came to an end with the Lakers in town at Chase Center on Thursday. Poole fell just one point short, scoring 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field with three triples.

Poole added four boards and a steal in 33 minutes during the Warriors’ win over the Lakers, 128-112.

With the race for playoff seeding in the Western Conference still heating up, the Warriors will need to continue to count on Poole’s scoring and playmaking for the final two games of the regular season over the weekend. The Warriors will meet the Spurs on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT.
