Jordan Love sent social media into a frenzy on Sunday, seemingly trolling Bears fans by wishing them a “Happy Father’s Day” in what appeared to be a shot at the Packers’ archrivals. However, the video in which he made the statement appears to have been taken out of context.
On Twitter, a Bears fan admitted that he asked Love to wish a Happy Father’s Day to French Bears fans. But Love apparently just forgot to mention the “French” part. The Packers quarterback confirmed the confusion as well.
“Was asked to do a special favor for this fan, didn’t think much of it lol but I see y’all really took it and ran with it,” he said.

So, it seems Love wasn’t trying to egg on Chicago fans as much as he was trying to do one particular fan a favor.
Love is entering his first season as Green Bay’s starter, so he is about to be front and center in the NFL’s oldest rivalry. Even though the video was meant to be harmless, it could prove to be more fuel to the fire of the Packers-Bears matchup.
