Jordan Jones believes the Buddies have yet to see the best of him in the stripes.
And he feels his fantastic first goal for St Mirren since joining on loan from Wigan will give him the confidence to drive the club on to another trip to Hampden this season.
The Saints made it to the League Cup and Scottish Cup semi-finals last time out, with the Paisley side now just one win away from returning to the national stadium after thumping Kelty Hearts 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Jones’ contribution, a sublime curling effort into the top corner, was the pick of the bunch and helped send them on their way to the quarter-finals.
The 27-year-old admits he’d love the chance to shine on the Hampden stage having never played there in his entire career.
Jones told Express Sport: “I need to work on my numbers for goals and assists but to get my first St Mirren goal is a confidence booster.
“The fans were singing my name and that’s great to hear.
“I feel there is a lot more to come from me and I’m delighted to be back playing football again.
“I’ve never actually played at Hampden before and it’s something I would love to do.
“When I was at Killie we played Aberdeen and they beat us on penalties in a game we should have won.
“I think we would have done well that season if we had gotten through that game.
“Getting to the national stadium was probably the one thing that was missing from my time at Kilmarnock.
“We got to third in the league and helped the club into Europe, but we just couldn’t get the club to Hampden.
“I think Hampden would suit me as it is a nice big pitch and it would be great to get there.
“I’m sure if we could do that the fans would come in their thousands to the national stadium as well.”
St Mirren will learn tonight who they will face in the last eight of the competition, with Jones’ former side Rangers among their possible opponents.
The Buddies put the Ibrox club out of the League Cup at the same stage last season, and the Northern Ireland international insists Jim Goodwin’s side fear no-one heading into the draw this evening.
Jones said: “It was a professional performance from us against Kelty.
“The defenders did their job well and they didn’t try to overplay or anything like that, they kept things simple.
“That allowed us as a team to grow into the game and then spaces started to open up for us.
“Once that happened we knew we could hurt them and that’s what happened.
“We can’t think too far ahead and we have to just worry about who we get in the quarter-final first and take it from there.
“Do we fear anyone? No we don’t.
“We know there are bigger clubs than ourselves but we have a bit of momentum now and we want to keep that going.
“If we keep winning then it helps your confidence and if you can’t win you try to make sure you don’t lose.
“We have a really strong team, we are solid at the back and we have attackers who can hurt teams.”
