According to The Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, Minnesota Vikings inside linebacker Jordan Hicks was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
Hicks injured his shin against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and was limited to just 26 snaps on the day. He did return to the game after the injury, but then left later on and didn’t return.
Word came out on Monday that Hicks was brought to the hospital to have a procedure. He developed compartment syndrome, which is where pressure builds up due to a traumatic injury and can cause serious damage. The procedure was deemed successful.
Hicks stayed in the hospital all day Monday, which was precautionary according to head coach Kevin O’Connell.
In light of the injury, the Vikings signed Anthony Barr to the practice squad to provide more depth. Hicks will miss Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos but after that, his status is up in the air.
