Liverpool managed to stop the rot when they eked out a goalless draw in a forgettable stalemate at Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
A much-changed Reds team halted a three-game losing run by earning a point at Stamford Bridge. The result means Jurgen Klopp’s side will most likely have to win eight of their remaining 10 Premier League games to have any hope of a top-four finish.
But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Duo targeted
Jurgen Klopp spoke of there being plenty of fight from his players during the game. And that was evident even when the ball was out of play.
During a scheduled break midway through the first half, Jordan Henderson could be spotted on the touchline in animated discussion with Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas.
Tsimikas had suffered a bit of a shocker in the early stages, while the Liverpool skipper was presumably still unimpressed by Matip having delayed the opportunity to play a forward ball just moments earlier. The pair were most certainly told.
Henderson makes up
The defensive duo weren't the only ones to get it in the neck from Henderson. The midfielder was involved in a heated exchange of views with Alisson Becker, which was caught on camera.
It prompted speculation of a falling-out that hinted at discontent behind the scenes at Anfield.
But there was little sign of trouble with Henderson and Alisson having their arms around each other in a friendly embrace after the game.
Sterling undisturbed
There were the usual jibes - some much less acceptable than others - exchanged between the Liverpool and Chelsea fans as the two sets of players struggled to find the onion bag.
And the away end couldn't resist a jibe at former Reds winger Raheem Sterling, whose departure almost eight years ago to Manchester City still rankles.
"One greedy b*****d" came the chant as the Chelsea substitute strode the touchline. Sterling merely smiled and carried on his warm-up.
Studge in demand
The number of players with links to both Chelsea and Liverpool is perhaps greater than people imagine. And there were several at Stamford Bridge.
Glen Johnson was all smiles in and around the press area, while Daniel Sturridge helped out with live television coverage by joining Henderson for an interview before the match.
And as the the Reds team bus prepared to leave for home, Joe Gomez made a beeline for his former Reds team-mate for a quick catch-up. Which was nice.
