Jordan conducted an airdrop of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza on Tuesday, as reported by the Jordanian state news agency Petra. The Jordanian Armed Forces carried out seven airdrops to various locations in northern Gaza and have committed to continuing sending aid through airdrops, ground convoys, and via the Marka airport in Amman to Egypt's Al-Arish International Airport.
Since October 7, Jordan has conducted a total of 87 airdrops into Gaza and has participated in 209 international airdrops, according to Petra. Tuesday's aid drop was a collaborative effort involving the US, Egypt, and Germany, as per the report.
Amidst the recent tit-for-tat strikes between Israel and Iran, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on Gaza. Safadi highlighted the pressing concern of Gaza facing the risk of famine, urging for continued attention and support for the region.
