Jonthan Gannon having a blast as Cardinals’ HC

Jonathan Gannon is a head coach for the first time, hired last month by the Arizona Cardinals to replace Kliff Kingsbury. He has a first-time general manager and offensive and defensive coordinators who hold those positions for the first time as well.

He is tasked with turning around a Cardinals team that went 4-13 last season after winning 11 games the season before.

Is he feeling the stress that comes with a head coaching position?

Not yet.

“People are like, ‘How are you holding up?'” Gannon told NFL Media’s Steve Wyche at the league’s annual meeting over the weekend. “How am I holding up? This is the best job I’ve ever had. So we’ll see, you know, you got to win some games. Most stress I had being a head coach is finding a house. It’s been awesome. Good people in the building.”

In fairness, he still is a couple of weeks away from the beginning of the offseason program.

Things have not been stressful yet.

The stress of buying a house is believable, though. It’s not a fun time to try and buy one.

But the point is that Gannon is excited and optimistic. He likes who he works with. He is happy with the organization and the players will be in the building soon enough.

If he isn’t feeling happy about the job right now, there will certainly be problems.
