Jonnie Irwin spent an emotional Father's Day with his three young sons as he bravely battles his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The A Place in the Sun star, 49, was given six months to live in 2020 after being told he had lung cancer, which has now sadly spread to his brain.
Jonnie has now admitted he 'doesn't know how long he has left', however he told fans he had the best 'Father's Day ever' with his sons Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
Taking to social media on Sunday, the presenter shared snaps of the family enjoying their day, which included the father-of-three tucking into a slice of delicious-looking chocolate cake.
Jonnie also shared photos of his sons holding handmade cards as well as one of him drinking proudly from a 'dad' mug.
He captioned the post: "Had The best Father’s Day ever.
"Breakfast of Chocolate Guinness cake baked expertly my brilliant wife then cards from the boys and visit from my brother in law for a brief pillion ride back in time to enjoy some of the highs and lows of the Ashes ending in more cake with more family washed down by a drop of champers."
Fans flocked to Twitter praising Jonnie for his bravery and wishing him the best for his special day.
However, heartbreakingly, the star's sons don't know about their dad's diagnosis.
Jonnie revealed he doesn't want them to find out because he doesn't want them to be 'confused.'
"I keep being asked, “Are you going to tell them?” but tell them what?’, he told OK! magazine.
"It would be horrible news that they’d have to get their heads around. And it would confuse the hell out of Rex – he’s got a shocking enough day coming. Let’s bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible."
The presenter recently shared how he travelled overseas for treatment after being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020, but the medical procedure caused irreversible damage to his liver.
As a result of his chronic pain, he explained he sometimes has to 'remove himself' from his home and his family to spend time in a hospice
Despite him enduring the biggest battle of his life, Jonnie is still putting others first after admitting he leaves his home when he's in pain because he feels he's 'not good to be around' and doesn't want his children to be affected by his moods.
