Jonah Hill asks people to stop commenting on his appearance and people think it’s brilliant

Jonah Hill has kindly requested for people to “not comment” on his body in a bid to support body positivity.

The actor made the plea on Wednesday via Instagram to his 3.1m followers to address comments being made by the public about his appearance.

Posting a simple note on his feed, the 37-year-old wrote: “I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body, he added: “good or bad, I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.”

Hill’s post has been received positively and has received over 400,000 likes, along with thousands of comments from fans and fellow celebrities in support of his message.

His sister and fellow actor Beanie Feldstein commented: “THATS MY BROTHER,” with a series of applause emojis.

While body positivity influencer, Alex Light wrote: “How you look is the least interesting thing about you/all of us. Society needs to wake up and realise this.”

Popstar SZA also praised Hill and replied: “Absolutely love you. Thank you!!”

“LOUDER,” plus-size model Tess Holliday added, with a series of emojis of a person speaking.

Meanwhile, fans of the star took to Twitter show share their love for Hill and his message but also pointed out how bad is that it’s gotten to a point where the actor has to tell people directly to stop.

It’s not the first time the Wolf of Wall Street actor has received support over his candidness in regards to how people talk about his appearance.

Back in February, Hill gave an honest response to a Daily Mail article about him which included photos of him on a surfing trip that was viewed as an attempt to body shame the actor.

In his response, he admitted to not taking his shirt off in a pool until he was in his mid-thirties.

“Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers,” Hill explained in the post at the time.

In August this year, the 21 Jump Street star proudly shared a photo of his new tattoo which promotes self-love and body positivity.

The orange and black inking was inspired by the logo for Body Glove, a water sports apparel company, which he changed to read: “Body Love.”
