Jon Bernthal set to make Marvel history with ‘The Punisher’ special

  • Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle, The Punisher, in an upcoming 60-minute Disney+ special.
  • This untitled special will be Marvel Studios' longest to date, exceeding the runtimes of previous specials like 'Werewolf By Night' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special'.
  • Written by Bernthal and director Reinaldo Marcus Green, the special will continue Castle's narrative established in the Netflix series 'Daredevil' and 'The Punisher'.
  • Bernthal has assured fans that the special will maintain the character's dark and authentic tone, promising it will not be a 'Punisher-lite' version.
  • The project, filmed in New York City last summer, is expected to be released on Disney+ later this year, coinciding with Bernthal's appearance as The Punisher in the upcoming film 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'.
