The family filmed an honest documentary called Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism.

At the end of last year, she explained how the documentary and her own diagnosis helped her and her husband talk a lot more.

Asked if it was a hard show to film, she told ITV's This Morning : "It really was. It's helped to raise awareness, it's helped people understand and it's opened up conversation between me and my husband, which I think is the best thing to happen to us."

"And for my kids, it's going to make things better for them when they're older. We haven't spoken to them about their diagnoses yet but when we do, I can just say to them - mummy works, mummy is trying to make friends now, mummy is going out, mummy is married and so they can do all those things too."

Christine feels she has "hidden" her diagnosis well.

"It's a massively misunderstood condition. I hide it very well and I think it was spotted amongst my followers on Instagram and my husband, yeah, he obviously knows me better than anyone at the end of the day," she added.
