Former Love/Hate star Johnny Ward will return to panto straight after his honeymoon, the actor has revealed.
The Dancing With The Stars contestant is set to tie the knot in Clane this Saturday to Brenda Murphy at the Westgrove Hotel.
After the wedding and honeymoon is over, Johnny will head straight into pantoland and rehearsals for panto.ie and their biggest ever panto, Sammy, Buffy and the Beanstalk at The National Stadium, where he is playing the baddie in the hugely popular show.
Johnny said: “I can’t wait to return to panto alongside Sammy Sausages, Buffy and the rest of the panto.ie gang.
“This year is extra special for me as it’s the 25th anniversary of my first panto with Alan and Karl. It’s a great feeling to be in something that you are actually a big fan of.
“Their pantos are flawless, hilarious, everyone leaves with a beaming smile and The National Stadium layout allows us to interact with the audience brilliantly. I’m tired of being all nice for all this wedding prep, I can’t wait to be the baddie again”, he said jokingly.
Alan Hughes who stars as the popular Sammy Sausages and co-produces the panto said he is delighted to have Johnny back in the panto.
The Virgin Media star said: “Johnny is a natural, I could see it when he was a child. He has been incredible in two of our recent pantos, but due to covid Peter Pan had to be pre- filmed for a drive-in panto and then Aladdin was cut short after 14 shows, also due to the pandemic.
“I can’t wait for our audiences to see him live; he was born for panto. But firstly myself and Karl and all the cast and crew wish Johnny and Brenda a very special Happily ever after.”
