Former Ireland captain Johnny Sexton has been appointed as an assistant coach to Andy Farrell for this summer's British & Irish Lions tour.

The 39-year-old will take up a full-time coaching position with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) on his return from the series in Australia.
