Johnny Rotten's wife Nora Forster dies aged 80 after Alzheimer's battle

Sex Pistols star Johnny Rotten's wife Nora Forster has passed away after a battle with Alzheimer's.

The 67-year-old rocker, whose real name is John Lydon had been his wife's full time carer and the couple were married for almost 50 years.

John announced the new on his official Twitter page earlier today, writing: "Rest in Peace Nora Forster. It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Nora Forster - John Lydon's wife of nearly five decades - has passed away.
