When staff at a vegan restaurant were told a booking was for John Travolta they initially thought it was a prank. However he has now been hailed as "a delight" after wowing staff with his thoughtfulness.
The 68-year-old celebrity ordered a range of plant-based meals as he treated daughter Ella for her 22nd birthday on Sunday. However his booking for six people - made on his behalf - was believed to be a joke according to the restaurant manager at Erpingham House in Norwich.
Travolta has also been spotted at a Morrisons supermarket and a Wetherspoons pub in Norfolk in the last few days. But his latest venture was to mark his daughter's special day.
Restaurant manager Anna Burnard, 34, said: "Someone booked the table on his behalf. He said 'just to make you aware it's for John Travolta. We did think it was a prank for a minute."
Anna said that Travolta spent a "good few hours" in the restaurant as his party enjoyed a "leisurely meal". He apparently ordered various items such as kale crisps, creamy mushroom pasta and a vegan cheeseburger.
Anna added: "We offered them a private room so he could have some privacy and they appreciated that. All the staff were excited. They all got to meet him on the day. He even went into the kitchen to thank the chef.
"He was a delight. They were a really lovely group."
The Hollywood A Lister has already stunned people in both a Morrisons and a Wetherspoons in Norfolk. The star of Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction is understood to be filming in Norfolk at Raynham Hangar Studios at the old airfield in West Raynham. It's not clear exactly what the star is working on, but his next film is thought to be a thriller called Paradise City.
Erpingham House, which opened in 2018, has previously hosted comedian Alan Carr.
