John Terry's Declan Rice advice predicts Chelsea blow if West Ham set for Record-Breaking window

John Terry’s advice is something that Chelsea fans do not take lightly. If the Carefree legend has an opinion, then it is listened to. It’s not often we hear him come up with outlandish statements, to be fair. In his latest interview with Astro SuperSport, Terry shared some gems, and he told us exactly what Chelsea fans wanted to hear. However, he followed up with a nightmare that could prevent our dreams from coming true.

First, Terry pitched Mason Mount to become the new Chelsea captain. Now the ex-Chelsea and West Ham player has given the Hammers some advice that the Chelsea faithful did not need to hear.

Asked if he'd give Declan Rice a little nudge about returning to Chelsea, Terry told Astro SuperSport,

"I'm going to get in trouble here! You know what, Dec obviously loves Chelsea – I think everyone knows that.

"I think he's given everything to West Ham. And for me, unless West Ham go and make a big statement in the summer and go and spend £100million plus and say, "We want to keep Dec, and we want to bring in top players like you", then I think he's got a decision to make."

"I think if West Ham go and spend huge amounts of money, bring in top players, then I think it's difficult for him to walk away."

The likelihood of the Hammers going big in the transfer window is not as far-fetched as some may believe. I thought Arsenal would never spend over £150 million last summer, but they had their eyes on working towards a top European spot. Let's also not forget the 19/20 season where West Ham spent a record-breaking £107m and subsequently finished just above relegation. The next season they continued to fill the gaps, signing Tomas Soucek and Vladamir Coufal, who were able to make the difference. They ended the season fighting for a top 4 spot right till the very end. Who's to say they do not have another record-breaking window?

David Moyes' team remains on the brink of occupying a Champions League spot. They have Arsenal, Tottenham, and Wolves to contend with, but I wouldn't rule them out. If they do miss out, the summer transfer window will decide whether or not Declan Rice makes a move over the river to West London. The Hammers will need to prove that they will have the personnel to tip them over the edge and into the Champions League.

After receiving his London Football Award as Premier League player of the year, Rice was asked about his desire to play Champions League football and responded saying,

"It is as urgent as possible."

If West Ham is able to grant his wish or give surround with confidence that it will happen during his time with the Hammers, Chelsea fans might not have their wish. The fans are crazy about him. Not just because he is a Cobham alum, but because he is the exact profile of player that is needed for their Premier League run. On top of that, he's got the Terry blessing.

When asked if Rice would be a great addition to the current Chelsea team, Terry simply nodded his head in agreement and replied: 'Incredible.'

As I mentioned before, Terry's advice is something that Chelsea fans do not take lightly.
