John Terry and Mason Mount have led the messages of support for Armando Broja following the striker's injury. The 20-year-old is expected to be out for at least the remainder of the season after learning that he needs surgery to fix a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee, football.london understands.
He screamed in pain following a collision with Ezri Konsa in Chelsea's mid-season friendly against Aston Villa. Broja, who looked to be in great pain, was seen clutching his leg as he was assisted by medical staff before eventually being stretchered off.
The Albania international will begin his rehabilitation programme soon but he could be out for a minimum of five months and a maximum of 12. Broja's injury comes as a major blow with Graham Potter preparing the club for a congested festive fixture schedule.
