JOHN Swinney has torn into Reform UK's Scottish leader Malcolm Offord for "spreading racist filth" at a fiery First Minister's Questions.

Offord attempted to take Swinney to task on this week's Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) results which showed Scotland falling behind England on reading, maths and science tests.
