John Swinney reacts to Andy Burnham's conditions for second independence referendum

THE First Minister has welcomed Andy Burnham laying out the conditions on a second independence referendum, saying they mark an acceptance that Scotland’s future will be decided by the people of Scotland – not the UK Government.

Speaking at PMQs on Wednesday, Burnham said that the rules governing when a repeat of the 2014 vote can be held should be “exactly the same” as those for an Irish reunification referendum.
