John Paul DeJoria turned his 96-acre Texas estate into an exotic-animal haven

John Paul DeJoria, co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits, has sold Patrón de Paz, his ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas, for $6.93 million. The property covers roughly 96 acres, about 25 miles outside Austin, and includes a four-bedroom main house of about 7,500 square feet, a swimming pool and two barns. About 120 exotic animals, among them wildebeest, oryx, gazelle and antelope, were included in the price. The ranch also has a 2,700-square-foot underground bomb shelter stocked with food and water. The buyer, Austin-based television producer Jonathan Nowzaradan, plans to move there.
