Manchester United football director John Murtough hailed Mason Mount as an "extremely intelligent footballer" after the England midfielder became the Reds' first summer signing.
Mount, 24, attended United's Carrington training base on Monday and Tuesday to complete his medical and put the finishing touches to the move. The Reds reached a breakthrough in negotiations with Chelsea last Thursday, agreeing to sign the England international for a fee that could rise to £60million.
The midfielder, who has put pen to paper on an initial five-year deal in Manchester, is the club's first signing of the summer transfer window. Mount, who brings a wealth of experience to the club, was manager Erik ten Hag's primary target to strengthen United's midfield options this summer.
