John Lewis is selling personalised Quality Street tins from today - how to get one

John Lewis is once again offering Brits the chance to personalise their own tub of Quality Streets this Christmas.

The retail giant has today brought back its Quality Street pick and mix pop-ups - which will be available in 18 stores nationwide.

The tins can be personalised with a choice of chocolates, as well as the name on the top - perfect if you're looking for a Christmas gift for a chocolate lover.

The pop-ups have previously been a huge hit with chocolate lovers, attracting huge two hour queues of shoppers hoping to get their hands on a tub.

It costs £15 for a personalised tin with your favourite flavours, £12 for a collector's tin and choice of chocolates, or £10 to re-use your personalised tin with your favourite sweets.

However, this is more expensive than a regular tub of Quality Street, which costs £4 from Asda or Tesco. The John Lewis tins are bigger in size at 1.2kg.

The Quality Street stands will be returning to Oxford Street today (October 10) and the following areas shortly after:

  • Bluewater
  • Cribbs Causeway
  • High Wycombe
  • Oxford Street
  • Cheadle
  • Kingston
  • Liverpool
  • Southampton
  • Milton Keynes
  • Trafford
  • Edinburgh
  • Leeds
  • Nottingham
  • Peter Jones
  • Glasgow
  • Cardiff
  • Cambridge
  • Newcastle

The pick and mix selection is made up of 11 sweets, and you'll have free reign to select your favourites.

If there's one specific chocolate that you're particularly fond of, you may even choose to fill your tub with that one flavour and avoid those that you don't like.

You can choose from the following flavoured chocolates:

  • The Purple One
  • Orange Creme
  • Milk Choc Block
  • Fudge
  • Toffee Finger
  • Orange Crunch
  • Coconut Eclair
  • Caramel Swirl
  • Toffee Penny
  • Strawberry Delight
  • The Green Triangle

Shoppers can also visit the Quality Street website to personalise your tub. There will also be the option to send a free, personalised message along with the tin to a loved one.

But it is more expensive. Customers can get their hands on the tub online for £20.49, with a standard £3 delivery charge.

News of Quality Street's personalised tub comes after manufacturer Nestle announced it would scrap its brightly coloured plastic wrappers after 86 years.

In an effort to go green, the treats are now being wrapped in a vegetable-based wax instead of the iconic shiny foils that became a festive staple for decades.

Cheryl Allen, head of sustainability at Nestlé confectionery, said the company thought long and hard before making the change.

She said: "Quality Street is a brand that people feel very strongly about. We know that opening the lid and seeing ‘the jewels’, as we call them, is really important.

"We think we’ve done a really good job with the redesign, and feel confident that people will respond positively."

Chocolate lovers can visit the Quality Street website to select up to six different flavours for their personalised tubs.
