During a recent event, John Legend and percussionist Sheila E. came together to pay tribute to the iconic musician Prince. The performance took place before Governor Tim Walz made his appearance on stage.

Governor Walz, in his capacity as the state's leader, honored Prince, a seven-time Grammy award winner and Minnesota native. Prince was renowned for his unique musical style known as 'The Minneapolis Sound,' which he cultivated at his residence and recording studio, Paisley Park.

In a campaign video, both Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Walz expressed their admiration for Prince's musical legacy. Harris specifically mentioned Prince as one of her personal favorite artists.

Sheila E., a close friend and frequent collaborator of Prince, joined Legend in the tribute performance. Legend, known for his vocal support of President Biden and Vice President Harris, previously delivered a memorable rendition of Nina Simone's 'Feeling Good' at the Biden-Harris inauguration in 2021.
