John Fury believes that Jake Paul initiated his filthy rant at girlfriend Julia Rose by sending private messages about his son Tommy's girlfriend to the fighter.
Paul and the whole Fury family, including John, Tommy and world heavyweight champion Tyson, had an outrageous virtual press conference back in November when the Brit was first slated to face his social media rival. The family sat in Morecambe with the gathered media, while Paul appeared via video link from a pool in Puerto Rico.
And after a heated back-and-forth, then-broadcast partners BT Sport were forced to apologise for the elder Fury's language when he made some sexually explicit jibes towards Paul's partner. He insisted that after his son beat Paul, he would "bend his girlfriend over and do her like a dog," which offended many viewers more than the other coarse language used.
But now Fury has defended his position, claiming that it was Paul who started it with crude comments about his son's girlfriend Molly Mae Hague. Tommy and Hague met during the 2019 season of Love Island, with Paul at one point publicly claiming she DM'd weeks before entering the villa, which she branded as photoshop.
“I think a lot of it stemmed from what he'd been messaging Tommy,” Fury told DAZN via Freebets.com. “He was messaging him graphic stuff about his girlfriend. When I saw him, he started swearing first and I don't even swear, but what I said I said.
"When you listen to the graphic stuff Jake Paul is saying about Tommy's girlfriend which isn't nice, the girl was very upset by it and I think my emotions got the better of me. These things happen in life, but do I regret what I said? No, I don't.”

Hague has tended to stay out of the drama between Paul and Fury, and has a busy schedule of her own to keep her busy while her boyfriend is in fight camp. But Fury claims she was upset by Paul's messages, which caused him to go off during the event.
“This week, BT Sport streamed a live boxing press conference that included a number of offensive and unacceptable comments, some of which has led to further online abuse,” Boxing on BT Sport said in a statement on Twitter. “This goes against all the values that BT Sport wants to uphold. We would like to apologise for any offence or upset this has caused.”
Paul and Fury's December fight date was cancelled when the Brit pulled out due to a rib injury, which forced the YouTuber to face ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley for a second time instead. The bout was rescheduled for next month, but Fury again was unable to hold up his end of the bargain due to being banned from travelling to America.
