John Barrowman has cancelled his UK tour due to poor ticket sales and rising costs. The actor and performer had been due to perform his 'I Am What I Am' show in cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow in February next year.
But he announced on Instagram on Monday (Dec 19) that the dates would be scrapped after the "hardest few years of his life". The post left many fans who had been excited to see him perform gutted.
His statement read: "It is with huge regret that we have decided to cancel the UK tour. Unfortunately, ticket sales in certain parts of the UK have been slow, and with the increased costs of touring it is no longer economically viable to continue.

"This is a decision that has not been taken lightly, and I know many of my fans will be very upset, as am I. Personally I am devastated and like many people I have found the last years extremely difficult, possibly the hardest few years of my life.
"When it gets tough it is sometimes better to stop and re-evaluate and that is exactly what I am going to do. I am so sorry to all my fans."
Barrowman's fans took to the comments to express their disappointment at the news. @nieeyore911 said: "Very sad you've had to cancel the tour, but high praise to you for being so honest about the reason & not stringing people along with an excuse. I hope that the tour can be put on again in the near future."
@golden_shimmer commented: "I'm gutted that the tour has been cancelled but can completely understand why. You need to do what’s right for you. Take care of yourself."
And @dandie_dinmont wrote: "I'm so sorry, John. Please know how much you mean to your fans. We will be here for you."
Barrowman was at the centre of controversy in the summer of 2021 after it was claimed he "exposed himself" on set while filming the BBC Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood.
The 55-year-old insisted that he had only done it to "entertain" his colleagues and said it had not been sexual harassment. It led to him leaving Dancing on Ice ahead of this year's series in January.
In June of this year, the actor was caught up in a horror car crash in Berlin, in which dozens of people were injured when a vehicle (not driven by Barrowman) careered into crowds of people and crashed into a shopping centre.
And last week, Barrowman deleted his Twitter account after accusing his Torchwood co-star Eve Myles of "spewing rhetoric". One user then shared a screenshot of John's last post, which was a reply to a fan who had shared a video of himself and Eve gushing about how much they cared for one another. It read: "One is telling the truth! One is spewing rhetoric for an audience..."
