Jofra Archer is reportedly set to miss all of England 's Test matches this summer as he makes his return from an elbow injury.
Archer has not played for England since March and has been forced to undergo two operations on his right elbow in a bid to correct the issue.
The 26-year-old recently stepped up his rehabilitation, joining up with England's T20I squad in the Caribbean, but he is not expected to be back in action until the summer.
However, in a bid to manage his recovery, the Telegraph are reporting that England do not want to risk Archer playing Test cricket this summer in case it aggravates his injury.
Archer was forced to abort a comeback last summer after the injury flared up, playing just four games for Sussex before getting ruled out for the remainder of the year and undergoing a second operation just before Christmas.
In a bid to avoid something similar happening this year, the report states Archer will be eased back into bowling through white-ball cricket.
It is stated that the most likely date Archer could make his England return is their T20I clash with India on July 7.
Archer is also set to feature in The Hundred for Southern Brave this year, having missed last year's edition of the tournament as a result of his injury.
The report states that Archer is 'likely to be available for the bulk of the Hundred' in what will be a major boost for the competition given he is one of the premier short-form cricketers in the world.
That was recently underlined during the IPL mega-auction when Mumbai Indians forked out a whopping £783,000 to sign Archer even though his injury means he will not play for them this year.
"I am super excited to be joining the Mumbai Indians," Archer said. "It has been a franchise that was really close to my heart and I always wanted to play for them as long as I could have remembered watching IPL cricket."
