Jofra Archer ruled out of Ashes, Jonny Bairstow returns to Test squad

England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the Ashes in a blow for England's fast-bowling stocks. 

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed Archer's absence on Tuesday because of ongoing problems with his right elbow that have limited his playing time since 2021.
