Joey Essex says his relationship with Vanessa Bauer will change after Dancing on Ice

Joey Essex and Vanessa Bauer will be hoping to cement their blossoming relationship by being crowned winners of Dancing On Ice 2023 on Sunday.

The couple have yet to officially confirm their relationship status but the close bond they share is evident from their respective social media pages that are filled with romantic snaps.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press ahead of the Grand Final, Joey opened up on how he thinks his relationship with the skating professional will change once the series has come to an end.

The former TOWIE star said: "Me and Vanessa have a great bond, we've always gotten on well with each other since day one."

"It's very special and I think it would be quite nice to see what’s going on in the outside because we're just mainly in the the ice rink to be honest. We’re taking it day by day. We've got the final ahead of us all of our focus is definitely on the final."

Vanessa and Joey revealed their rituals include taking "deep breaths" before each live show.

Expanding on what they do before each performance, Vanessa said: "It depends on how nervous he is, really, it changes every single week I get a different Joey before each performance. Last week, we were a bit of a nervous wreck, to be honest and emotional but we literally lift it up each other."

"I was really confident in the day about everything and as soon as it came to the personal skate, all emotions started running through my body it became quite hard to focus," Joey admitted.

"But I believed in myself that when it was time to perform when it was going live, I knew I'd be able to snap out of it and perform it in the best way possible.

"My emotions never got to me throughout this whole journey, it was a very difficult semi-final."

"We were both there for each other, we’ve been there for each other since day one and the reason we got through that night was because we believed in ourselves," she said before adding the couple make a "great partnership".
