Former Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira has revealed why he thinks the club have struggled since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
It has now been nine years since British football's most successful manager waved goodbye to Old Trafford. The club have struggled to find success since the former manager left United and have gone through a series of bosses in an effort to take them back to winning ways.
Erik ten Hag is the latest man to try and restore the former glory that Ferguson achieved. The Dutchman has brought a wave of optimism to Manchester since his appointment.

Ten Hag is the fifth permanent boss to find himself in charge at Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal amongst those to have tried to replicate Ferguson's success since his retirement. Although there is an argument that United need to be patient with their new managers, instant results are crucial in the Premier League.
Joel Pereira was at United from 2015-2021 but spent the vast majority of his time on loan at sides such as Hearts and Huddersfield Town. United's former shot-stopper did make one Premier League appearance under Mourinho as he kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace during a 2-0 win in 2017.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has seen his fair share of managers come and go, seeing how each one in turn tried to replicate Ferguson's success. He has now had his say on why he thinks the club have struggled to get back to their best.
Speaking to Football-Oranje's YouTube channel, he said: "Since he [Ferguson] left, obviously United have not had the same success as they used to have.
"I think a lot of coaches came after him and a lot of changes. People come with new ideas and with new structures and you just adapt. Some of them didn’t work out, some did okay.
"One thing I know for sure is that they deserve to be back where they belong which is at the top, winning Premier League titles.
"That is what every Man United fan wants to see and I am one of them. I will always be rooting for Man United and I want them to be back to be a success."
