During an amazing matchup between Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Denver’s Nikola Jokic, it was Embiid who emerged victorious.
Embiid finished with 41 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists with one block during the win. Jokic recorded 25 points, 19 rebounds and three assists to go with one steal and one block. Embiid is now 6-2 during the eight games that he has played against Jokic.
After the win, Embiid and Jokic had a brief conversation that was captured on camera by the TNT broadcast. Embiid was asked what he told Jokic and he shared part of the exchange.
“I just told him he’s the best player in the league.”

“I just told him he’s the best player in the league. Like I told you earlier, he won the championship. That’s the best team in the league and he’s the Finals MVP. I just told him to keep going and I’ll see you in two weeks. Keep doing your thing and that’s why you’re the best in the league.”
There is a lot of mutual respect between these two big men, who have won all three of the last MVP awards in the NBA.
