Joel Dommett won't rule out I'm A Celeb return - but fears he'd 'taint' jungle experience

Joel Dommett has refused to rule out a return for I'm A Celebrity's All Star series.

The ITV show has plans to bring together the legends of the past 20 series for a very special all stars version, and whilst Joel says he hasn't been contacted yet, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of heading back into the jungle.

However, the comedian and presenter admits he is concerned about "tainting" his previous experience in Australia, having placed runner up on the show back in 2016 behind eventual winner Scarlett Moffatt.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "I genuinely haven't been approached for it. I'm really excited about watching it.

Joel took part in the 2016 series (ITV)

"I just think it's kind of mad when you realise why has this not been done? It's so exciting, such an iconic show and I'm really excited to see firstly who they pick and secondly, how they all interact. All these massive personalities, all put together."

Joel is grateful for the show though, and says he "owes everything" to I'm A Celebrity.

He added: "If I got asked to do it, I'm not sure really, because I just really like what I did in the jungle and I really would like to sort of leave it there. I really enjoyed it and I wouldn't want to almost taint that experience, but it's such a huge part of my career and I just really owe everything to I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here really.

He also hosted the sister show Extra Camp (ITV)

"I think it's such an amazing show. Ant and Dec are obviously incredible on it. I'm super excited to see this sort of extra element being added to the I'm A Celebrity family of shows."

In terms of who he'd want back in the jungle, Joel has thrown a number of hats into the ring.

"I'd love to see Peter Andre in there because I just feel like it's so iconic. You could look at someone like Joe Swash, but because he's done the extra show for too long, so you can't have him in there," he shared.

Joel was joined by a number of famous faces in the jungle (Rex Features)

"Dean Gaffney - almost certainly would love to see him in there. I'd love to see Scarlett in there again, just for the true purpose of just nostalgia. I would love to see her in the jungle whilst being at home, being able to watch how good she is."

He added: "There's some amazing ones. Christopher Biggins, there's so many incredible iconic people who have done it, who have created these mad, amazing moments that we constantly used to play on the extra show."

Joel is taking part in the Cadbury ‘Hear from a Hero’ competition, alongside Craig David and Charithra Chandran. Three young people will have the chance to win a video chat with one of the heroes, to discuss their doubts and how they overcame them. Competition entry is open now till 31 st July.
