Joe Worrall has admitted it was an honour to play for his 'hero' Steven Gerrard at Rangers as he opened up on his time at the club.
The Nottingham Forest defender - now starring in the English Premier League following promotion from the Championship last term - was snapped up by the now Aston Villa boss in the early part of his Ibrox reign. The big defender, now skipper at the City Ground, played 32 times during his spell in Glasgow, scoring one goal.
He picked up experience of playing in the Europa League during his time at Rangers coming up against Villarreal, Rapid Vienna and Spartak Moscow. He admitted to being homesick during his time away from Nottingham as he loves being at home. Despite this, he wouldn't change his time at the club he described as 'unbelievable' and is so thankful he got the chance to turn out for the Light Blues.

He told the Big Interview: “My loan at Rangers, I’m so so thankful for. I loved my time up there, unbelievable football club. The size of it, Steven Gerrard being the manager was a massive pull.
"I thought it was a prank call. He’s my hero. I loved watching him as a player, it was unbelievable to play for him. I did find it tough, a long way from Nottingham and I’m a big home boy. Massive learning curve at Rangers.”

Nottingham Forest have found life in the top flight tough to begin with just one win and one draw from the opening six games of the season. They currently sit 19th in the table.
It was a huge summer of transfer activity at the club and they will be hoping the new additions gel quickly.
They face Bournemouth, Leeds, Fulham and Leicester City in an important run of fixtures to get points on the board.
