Joe Wicks has revealed his wife Rosie had to be rushed to hospital after developing appendicitis while pregnant with their fourth child.
The Body Coach, 38, took to Instagram to share details of the health scare on Sunday with his concerned 4.7m followers and revealed that his other half is now “on the mend” after needing to have her appendix removed.
Uploading a picture to Instagram Stories of Rosie’s baby bump with bandages visible where her appendix were, he wrote: “Rosie had to go into hospital last week to have her appendix out, She and the baby are all good, She's on the mend now.”
According to information available online, pregnant women tend to have more chances of developing appendix ruptures that spill infectious contents into the abdominal cavity and can cause sepsis, therefore emergency surgery must be immediately performed.
Former glamour model Rosie is currently 21 weeks pregnant and appears to have undergone a laparoscopic appendectomy.
In comparison to open appendectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove the appendix through small incisions.
The couple are already proud parents to Indie, five, Marley, three, and 17-month old Leni.
They first got together in 2016 after meeting at a rave and tied the knot in a stunning countryside ceremony in 2019.
Wicks, who helped the get the nation fit during the pandemic, has previously said that they would like to have six children and announced that they were expecting their fourth in January.
The TV personality posted a photo to Instagram of himself with daughter Leni and wife Rosie, who wore a unitard showing off her pregnancy bump.
The photo was captioned: “Baby number 4 incoming #20weeks.”
