Joe Swash has admitted he and wife Stacey Solomon are "addicted" to having babies.
The couple share six children between them, with their youngest child Belle born in February. Stacey, 33, has said she's doesn't imagine herself having anymore kids, but Joe, 41, reckons more could be on the way.
Speaking about his blended family, he said: “We’re at number six now. The baby bit goes so fast, and then before you know it, they’re toddlers – then you yearn for babies again. We’re slightly addicted to babies – it’s so nice to be needed. You think, ‘Six has to be it,’ but I’d never say never.”
“They’re only babies for three or four years before Stacey starts wanting another one, so I have to make the most of it now," he told OK! magazine.
Joe is incredibly close to his mum Kiffy, who is a foster parent. The father-of-five recently said fostering is something he and Stacey would love to do.
Speaking on the Netmums podcast, he said: “Fostering is something that me and Stacey have talked about and would love to do. We'd love to foster, we'd love to give something back, you know?
“It is something that we definitely want to do, when our kids get old enough that they're not as reliant on us.“
After his mum's experience, the I'm A Celebrity star was motivated to make a new BBC documentary following a Government review into childrens’ social care, which found the system has been woefully underfunded for more than a decade.
“I wanted to do more for them,” Joe sighs on the show. “There’s not much I can do apart from shining a light on the situation and that was a real struggle. I just wanted to take them all home with me, I just wanted to parent them, but I couldn’t, which was sad.
“Anyone who met these teenagers would come away and feel guilty and feel like they’ve let them down in some way.”
Between them, Joe and Stacey share Rex, four, Rose, who was born in October 2021 and baby Belle. Meanwhile Joe is dad to Harry, 16, from a previous relationship while Stacey has sons Zachary, 15, Leighton, 11, from past romances.
Referring to his youngest child as a “snuffly bundle of joy“, Joe also praised his other daughter, calling Rose the “perfect piece of the jigsaw puzzle“.
The couple say they only rely on family to help them look after the children and have different parenting styles.
Joe admits he sometimes doesn't follow through with his rules, giving his kids a 'piece of chocolate after telling them off when Stacey isn't looking'.
However, on the whole, he says they're are on the same page as they raise their adorable brood in Pickle Cottage.
