Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla is grateful for star forward Jaylen Brown‘s extension with the Celtics. He praised Brown’s character off the court as an activist and organizer against systemic racism in the wider Boston community during the official press conference for Brown’s supermax contract extension signing.
The team’s future looks promising, allowing for long-term planning now that it has Brown under contract for the next six seasons. The Celtics aim to maintain their defensive identity while exploring new strategies and integrating new assistants who bring valuable experience to the team. Mazzulla also spoke about the starting point guard position in Marcus Smart’s absence, and the healing process regarding Malcolm Brogdon’s almost-traded situation.
