The Boston Celtics have made a strong start to the NBA’s 2023-24 season, remaining undefeated at 4-0 after a dominant win over the Indiana Pacers, winning 155-104 in what was the storied ball club’s second-highest point total in a regular season game over the eight-decade history of the organization.
Initially, the Celtics’ bench had been relatively quiet on the offensive end of the court, adding only 34 points across the team’s first three games of the season. This trend was reversed in their latest game vs. the Pacers, where the bench stepped up significantly, outscoring Indiana in the tilt’s final frame to push the lead to historic levels.
Contributions of 17 points from reserve forward Sam Hauser and 15 more from backup point guard Payton Pritchard highlighted a much-improved effort from the ball club’s reserve players on Wednesday night.
Reporter Bobby Manning of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast recently weighed in on how Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla met with the bench in private to spur greater effort and focus from them; check it out above!
