Footage has emerged of England international Joe Marler appearing to grab Deon Fourie by the genitals.
The alleged incident occurred in the Champions Cup round of 16 knockout clash between Harlequins and DHL Stormers in Cape Town.
It went unpunished during the match, but Marler has since been criticised by former South Africa coach Swys de Bruin on the Final Whistle programme on Super Sport.
Analysing the incident, de Bruin described what he believes to have happened.
"I want you to have a look at what he [Marler] really did, what really annoyed Deon Fourie… I have got to pick my words correctly… That is the last thing that you want, to get that treatment. That was Joe Marler. Do we need those characters? Yes. But maybe we don’t need that last action so much," said de Bruin.
You can watch a clip of the incident below.
It is not the first time that Marler has been at the centre of similar controversy; he famously involved in an incident with Alun Wyn Jones against Wales in 2020. He was given a 10-week ban for that.
Stormers went on to win the game 32-28, advancing to the quarter-finals. They will play Exeter Chiefs this weekend.
Former dragons prop Brok Harris packed down for Stormers and Western Province on the same day, you can read more about that here.
