Joe Exotic seeks Kardashian help on Instagram, still in prison

Kourtney Kardashian

Joe Exotic, known for his role in the popular Netflix documentary series 'Tiger King,' has resorted to seeking legal help in rather unconventional places - like Instagram. Recently, he took to Kourtney Kardashian's account, commenting on a photo of her and her newborn son, pleading for assistance in getting released from prison.

In his comment, Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado, wrote, 'Awwww cute, also please have your sister help me get out of this hell hole.' Although his plea received over 7,200 'likes' and garnered numerous responses, none of them came from the Kardashian sisters.

Unfortunately for Exotic, his incarceration is the result of a heinous murder-for-hire plot against a rival and the senseless killing of five tigers. In January 2020, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison and also convicted of illegally trading tiger cubs.

However, there was a glimmer of hope for Exotic, as a federal appeals court found errors in the sentencing guidelines and removed one year from his sentence. Despite this development, he continues to seek aid from public figures, particularly Kim Kardashian, who has been vocal about prison reform during Donald Trump's presidency.

In December 2020, Exotic attempted to catch Kim's attention with a letter requesting her help in securing a pardon from President Trump. He expressed his belief in her commitment to justice and implored her to spare just 10 minutes to reach out to the president on his behalf.

Unfortunately for Exotic, it seems his plea went unnoticed or ignored. As he serves his sentence, he has faced additional hardships. In February 2023, he wrote a letter disclosing his diagnosis of prostate cancer, with concerns that the aggressive disease may have spread to his bladder.

The story of Joe Exotic continues to captivate the public, with his unconventional methods and outlandish persona. While his plea to be released from prison may have found its way to Instagram, it remains to be seen whether it will lead to any significant outcome for him.
