Joe Duffy and Liveline has seen listenership fall by the thousands, new figures have shown.
The staple of RTE's afternoon listening, 58,000 tuned out of the show in 2021 - and listenership has continued to drop, with the show losing listeners for the second time this year in the latest stats.
Stats from the latest Joint National Listenership Report (JNLR) book show that the call-in show has lost 3,000 listeners, mirroring the drop that it faced in February.
3.19 million listeners aged 15-plus tune into radio every weekday, or some 78.6 per cent of all adults, for an average of four hours

There is much better news elsewhere in the JNLR book for RTÉ, with the majority of Radio 1’s weekday shows increasing their listenership.
News at One jumped by 1,000 while big hitters like Miriam O'Callaghan and Brendan O'Connor on the weekend continued to pull in listeners.
Peter Woods, Head of RTÉ Radio 1 said: "We're delighted to see that morning programmes in Radio 1 continue to break new ground in attracting listenership. Brendan O'Connor and Miriam O'Callaghan dominate listening on weekends and there is recognition too here for the wider cultural footprint of this station."
Other stations are also celebrating jumps, with Newstalk's breakfast offering gaining 5,000 listeners to 146,000, but Pat Kenny's show is down 2,000 to 184,000
Gavan Reilly's On the Record saw a major jump of 17,000 new listeners.
Managing Editor of Newstalk, Patricia Monahan, commented: "It is fantastic to see continued and consistent growth across the station and to achieve another milestone for Newstalk of 7.2% market share. It is particularly encouraging to see strong growth in the 20 – 44 age group and all programmes across weekday and weekends having impact."
Today FM has plenty to celebrate too after increasing its market share to 9.1%, its highest in over a decade, with Ian Dempsey having 200,000 listeners at breakfast
James Brownlow, Managing Editor, Music & Entertainment, Bauer Media Audio Ireland said: "Bauer Media is already home to Ireland’s biggest commercial radio shows and personalities and these latest audience figures from Today FM really showcase that.
"The station has seen the biggest growth in the market, thanks to Ian at Breakfast, Dermot & Dave and The Last Word with Matt Cooper having achieved multiple audience on records over the last 3 surveys.
"This year’s additions of Ray Foley, Pamela Joyce and Paula MacSweeney to new shows have further enhanced the listener experience."
