The Cincinnati Bengals and fans got a minor scare near the start of training camp when quarterback Joe Burrow needed to have his appendix removed.
Buy Bengals TicketsWhat followed was Burrow openly admitting he needed to scramble to put weight back on his frame after the operation.
But with Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on approach, Burrow says he’s all the way back, going so far as to say he’s hitting the testing numbers he likes to see.
“I’m feeling really good. Throwing it the way I want to throw it, hit all my speed numbers, feeling strong in the weight room. Feel really good,” Burrow said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
It might sound vague, but Burrow hasn’t really been one to shy away from being honest in these types of situations. Teammates have said he’s looked just fine in practices, too.
Any skeptical onlookers will still need to see Burrow in action over the weekend, but from the sounds of things, he’s right back to normal.
