Joe Burrow Says He Reaggravated Painful Injury at End of Bengals' Loss to Ravens

Joe Burrow told reporters that he re-aggravated his right calf in the Bengals’ 27-24 loss to the Ravens on Sunday afternoon.

Burrow initially injured his calf at the start of the NFL training camp, keeping him sidelined in the process. The loss dropped the Bengals, thought by many to be the favorites in the AFC, to 0-2 on the season.

When asked about his approach going forward after tweaking his calf, Burrow said things would be day-to-day.

“I’m not sure how it is going to feel in the next couple days,” Burrow said. “It’s pretty sore right now. But, no telling how it’s going to feel. …We’re gonna have to wait and see.”

Burrow said he tweaked his calf on the play before the Bengals' final touchdown of the day, a four-yard pass to Tee Higgins. Following Cincinnati’s last score, the Ravens controlled the final minutes of the game to secure the win.

Burrow had a noticeable limp while walking off the field following the game. After throwing for only 35 yards in the first half against Baltimore, Burrow finished with 222 yards on 27-for-41 passes, two touchdowns and one interception.
