Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow exited Thursday’s game against the Ravens after sustaining an injury in the first half.
After his departure from Thursday Night Football, an old tweet from Cincinnati’s star quarterback began making the rounds on X.
In the tweet, Burrow bizarrely forecasted what he’d do if he sustained a hand injury during a game, joking that he’d channel his inner-Jon Snow, a character from HBO’s Game of Thrones, in order to get back out onto the field.
“If Jon Snow can return from the dead after getting stabbed in the heart... I can return from a broken hand,” Burrow wrote back in August of 2017.

After digging up the old post, fans were quick to try to hold Burrow to his word, begging him to get back out onto the field.
Time to put that to the test

The Bengals ruled Burrow out shortly after halftime with what the team described as a right wrist injury, and backup Jake Browning came in to replace him. Burrow’s right hand appeared to be quite swollen when he exited the game.

Despite his confidence in the tweet from six years ago, the star quarterback won’t be pulling off a Jon Snow-like comeback in order to return to action on Thursday night.
